Country Park Accreditation Study Day - 18th March 2010

Woodland Room, Worcester Woods Country Park, Wildwood
Drive, Worcester WR5 2LG

This study day will introduce participants to the Country Park Accreditation
scheme and follow the process of completing an application from the
applicant's perspective. Worcester Woods Country Park, the first accredited
country park in England, will be used as a case study.

The study day will be run by Worcestershire County Council countryside
management staff who have both successfully gone through the process and
offered a practitioners view throughout its design and development, alongside
Natural England staff who lead on the management and development of the
scheme.

It is aimed at managers of country parks and sites with similar functions who
want to learn more about the scheme and the nitty gritty of submitting an
application. This will be a fairly informal day with plenty of opportunity for
questions and discussion.

This study day costs £50, which will include drinks. 10 free places are
available to CMA and CRN members, offered on a first come first served
basis, with a limit on one free place per organisation. To obtain a booking
form or for further information please contact Joanne Barrow at
jbarrow@worcestershire.gov.uk or call her on 01905 766491.

A real application workshop

This will be an interactive session going through the Worcester Woods
application. It will include looking at the actual application and going out
around the Country Park looking at what was used as evidence. This is an
opportunity to get an insight into what assessors are looking for and how you
can demonstrate that your site meets the requirements.
Site surgery
If you have started an application and got stuck this is an opportunity to get
guidance and advice directly from Natural England assessors and a site
manager who has gone through the process. We will provide direct help with
your application, however the time we can spend on each application will be
shared out according to demand.
If you are interested in benefiting from this surgery please indicate this on
your booking form, giving the name of your country park and, if you can,
details of elements of your application that you would like to explore or are
stuck on. This session will run alongside the 'Real Application' workshop,
which you will be able to participate in as well.
